Why must I suffer you?
Why are you my burden to bare?
You are not my chain but my shackles.
I am bound to you.
Why must your wrath be my pain?
Your bitter words are like cannon balls fired at my soul.

I kneel and plead before you not to be the whipping boy for your anger.
